BMW F800GS

December 10th, 2008

I recently purchased a BMW F800GS adventure cycle. This is my first real motorcycle and so far it’s been nothing but fun. Today after work I met up with my friend Gary who just purchased a 2006 Kawasaki KLR who wanted to take it out for its maiden voyage. We opted for Post Canyon because daylight is fleeting this time of year and we both were looking forward to climbing up to 2 Chair where we normally start our downhill mountain bike rides.

Last night I installed crash bars, skid plate and hand guards all from Adventure-Spec. Everything bolted on very easily and the quality is top notch. Accessories for this bike are already back ordered, taking more than a month for delivery for almost anything. This past weekend I took the cycle into the dealer to have the break-in updates done. While there I also had them install a set of TKC-80 tires which are MUCH better in the dirt than the Battlewings that came stock.

A large storm is moving into the Cascade Range this Friday with frigid temperatures and lots of snow, it will be our first real winter storm of the season…it’s about time! The weather tonight was very still and mild, a perfect night to braap around Post Canyon!

Yeah, that’s right — pollute that pristine wilderness with all that noise and exhaust. You don’t give a sh*t.

    Still miss you, man.

    Have a great Christmas.

Yeah….you’re gonna want to put some LR3s on that thing. Next I would add some S7s from the GL series. Then she’ll purr like a cougar at frat party.
